DMU Kinematics – HSO

CATIA – DMU Kinematics (ISG1536)

In this course, students will learn how to create and simulate V5 mechanisms using CATIA products. The course begins with an overview of the mechanism design process, and then each step in the process is discussed in depth with the use of lectures and several hands-on exercises. This course also introduces the concept of converting assembly constraints into kinematic joints. Additionally, an introduction on converting V4 mechanism to V5 is provided. The course covers the 3D model method of creating kinematic assemblies.

Prerequisites: One of the following courses must be taken prior to DMU V5 Kinematics:

• DMU V5: Navigator and Space Analysis

• CATIA V5: Basics

• CATIA V5: Introduction for Managers and Reviewers
